WellMind Core
Supporting earlier clinical insight into Alzheimer’s disease pathology and genetic risk.
WellMind Core combines blood-based phosphorylated tau 217 (pTau-217) testing with GenoRisk™, a polygenic risk assessment for Alzheimer’s disease, to provide physicians with additional clinical information when evaluating patients with cognitive impairment.
Plasma pTau-217 is a biomarker associated with Alzheimer’s disease pathology and can help inform the assessment of amyloid-related changes. GenoRisk evaluates inherited genetic predisposition using multiple genetic variants, including APOE, to provide a complementary assessment of Alzheimer’s disease risk.
Together, these results offer insight into both current biomarker findings and underlying genetic susceptibility, supporting clinical decision-making and helping physicians determine appropriate next steps.
WellMind Core includes:
-
pTau-217 blood biomarker: Assessment of a biomarker associated with Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
-
GenoRisk™ genetic assessment: Polygenic risk scoring, APOE genotyping, and an estimate of genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease.
-
Integrated clinical report: A consolidated summary of biomarker results and genetic risk findings to support physician interpretation.
-
Neurology consultation access: Patients can access a board-certified neurologist to review results, discuss their clinical significance, and develop an individualized plan for further evaluation and follow-up.
An additional resource for referring physicians
WellMind Core helps physicians incorporate emerging blood-based biomarkers and genetic risk information into the evaluation of patients with cognitive impairment, with access to specialized neurology consultation to support continuity of care.
Clinical considerations: WellMind Core is intended to support, not replace, comprehensive clinical evaluation. Neither an isolated pTau-217 result nor genetic risk assessment establishes a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Results must be interpreted in the context of the patient’s history, examination, and other clinical findings.
WellMind Plus
A broader biomarker assessment to support comprehensive neurological evaluation.
WellMind Plus expands upon WellMind Core by incorporating additional blood-based biomarkers associated with neurodegeneration and astroglial activation. The panel combines pTau-217, neurofilament light chain (NfL), glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), and GenoRisk™ genetic risk assessment in a single integrated clinical report.
In addition to evaluating a biomarker associated with Alzheimer’s disease pathology and inherited genetic susceptibility, WellMind Plus provides complementary information about neuronal injury and astroglial responses.
These additional biomarkers may provide useful clinical context when evaluating patients with cognitive impairment or suspected neurodegenerative disease. Findings are intended to support clinical assessment and inform decisions about further evaluation, specialist consultation, and follow-up.
WellMind Plus includes:
-
pTau-217 blood biomarker: Assessment of a biomarker associated with Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
-
Neurofilament light chain (NfL): A marker of neuroaxonal injury that may be elevated in several neurological and neurodegenerative conditions.
-
Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP): A marker associated with astroglial activation or injury that provides additional context regarding neurological processes.
-
GenoRisk™ genetic assessment: Polygenic risk scoring, APOE genotyping, and an estimate of inherited genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease.
-
Integrated clinical report: Consolidated biomarker and genetic risk findings to assist with clinical interpretation and follow-up planning.
-
Neurology consultation access: Patients can access a board-certified neurologist for a comprehensive review of findings and development of an individualized plan for further evaluation, management, and follow-up.
Expanded insight for referring physicians
WellMind Plus provides physicians with a broader assessment of Alzheimer’s disease-associated pathology, neuronal injury, astroglial activity, and genetic predisposition. Combined with access to specialized neurology consultation, the panel supports a more informed approach to evaluating patients and determining appropriate next steps in care.
Clinical considerations: NfL and GFAP are not specific to Alzheimer’s disease and may be influenced by age, comorbidities, and other neurological or systemic conditions. WellMind Plus is not a standalone diagnostic test and does not establish a diagnosis or distinguish specific neurodegenerative disorders without additional clinical evaluation.

Frequently Asked Quesions for Providers
Find practical answers about referrals, testing, results, and patient care after a WellMind test.
Who should get WellMind testing?
That depends on the selected test and the patient’s circumstances. Review the current test information with your patient before referring them to the Patients Start Here page.
How does my patient order WellMind Core or WellMind Plus?
Refer your patient to the Patients Start Here page, where they can review the available tests and place an order.
Who schedules the blood draw?
Patients book their blood draw appointment as part of the ordering process on the Patients Start Here page.
What information will the results provide?
WellMind reports communicate findings associated with the selected test, including screening information and, where applicable, genetic results. Sample Core and Plus reports show the information each test provides.
What happens after results are available?
ADx Health coordinates the post-test process, including access to care through contracted tele-neurology providers for patient follow-up.
Is ADx Health the patient's neurology clinic?
No. ADx Health supplies the tests and laboratory services and coordinates care with contracted neurologists. Those clinicians provide tele-neurology care; ADx Health is not the clinic.
